We woke up in Arlington and Mama and Daddy took us to the airport. We said good bye and flew to Vermont on American Airlines. We sat in row 11 in seats A, C, and D. We got pretzels and water. When we got to Vermont, Hazel's suitcase was the first one off the plane. We saw a blue cow in the Burlington airport. It wasn't real.
We had lunch at Aunt Fun's house, we had chicken and vegetables in a stir fry. It was very delicious. Then we went to the book store, they had a Scholastic Book Mobile. We met Clifford the Big Red Dog and got our picture taken with him. We won some free prizes to make coloring pictures and tattoos.
One of the prizes we got was a tattoo of Captain Underpants, I (Hazel) put it on Aunt Fun. We then went to an ice cream shop. Karen and Allen came with us, too. We met an author and Aunt Fun bought us her book, she signed her name and wrote our names in the book. We will read the book before we go to sleep tonight.
Karen gave me (Hazel) a book called Socks. Socks is a cat and it is sort of like Sox, Aunt Fun's cats. We sampled a lot of flavors, we made good choices. We would like to go there again. We went grocery shopping. Aunt Fun got us food for camp lunches.
We visited Dues' brick at the military memorial. He knew about Sabra but he did not know about me (Hazel). He was in heaven when I (Hazel) was born.
We had hot dogs and vegetables for dinner. We then got our backpacks ready for camp. We took a bath and washed our hair. Aunt Fun got the tangles out of our hair really well, it did not hurt. We this the best things today were the ice cream, seeing the brick for Dues, and Clifford.
We are going to sleep in the big bed with Aunt Fun. We will write more tomorrow.
Love, Sabra and Hazel
We are so glad to hear Sabra and Hazel are having such a wonderful time with Aunt Fun, my Sister, in Vermont! Today you saw our Father's WWII brick memorial. I remember as a child an old Japanese rifle he brought back from the war. He was a proud Marine in the 6th Division and shipped out for the Pacific war 1 day after I was born. I didn't see him until I was 18 months old! You will have a super time at camp tomorrow learning about animals. And when its over Aunt Fun will pick you up and you will be having even more fun until after the sun goes down! I loved all the pictures and look forward to learning of your many adventures this week!
