We woke up and got dressed. We laid out our clothes last night. We had Mickey Mouse pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup for breakfast.
We were VERY excited to go to Shelburne Farms to camp. That is the whole reason we came to Vermont. Sabra goes to Farm and Fields camp. Hazel (me) goes to Adventure camps. Sabra gets dropped off first and then I get dropped off. We saw our friend Danny and her son, Sam. Sam goes to camp with me (Hazel).

Aunt Fun picked us up at the end of camp. Our best things were this: Sabra: going to the beach at Shelburne Farms and finding sea glass and looking at the farm garden. I made some new friends, too. Hazel: seeing a maple sugar house, eating 100 raspberries and seeing Sam. We were outside all day long. Shelburne Farms is really beautiful.

Thumb's Up after a day at camp!
We then went to Shelburne Beach for a picnic dinner and Sarah taught us how to skip rocks. Sabra skipped four times and Hazel (me) skipped three times. We swam in Lake Champlain. The water is not deep. We ate a picnic and then came home and had oreos for a snack. Sarah showed us her favorite TV show, Andy Griffith. We are watching it now. We are very excited to go back to camp tomorrow.

They truly had a BLAST at camp today. They LOVED it and tomorrow sounds like another great day, too.
We are watching Andy Griffith, I did not want to watch Cartoon Network and we're about to go to bed. I'm exhausted, but still need to do a little laundry, too.
LOVE TO ALL, -Sarah
Goodness gracious! What an active, involved and fascinating day Sabra, Hazel and Sarah have had! It makes me tired just to think about it! I'm so grateful our granddaughters can be with their Aunt Fun for a whole week in the Green Mountain State. I was glad Hazel could see Sam today and Sabra has made some friends too. Pancakes with maple syrup, ice cream, teddy bears.......what a grand adventure. We are all very envious but also happy for you. Looking forward to tomorrows report! Love to all......
ReplyDeleteWay to go Sabra, I am delighted you are making new friends. You are cool and I know I like to hang around with you. Today at Shelburne Farmes you were able to see beauty almost in every direction. I bet it felt good to walk in the water and skip a few stones. Ha ha I wonder if you can skip in the water without falling over???
ReplyDeleteHazel, so great to see Sam and old buddy from school. You looked so happy in your swim suit in the water and yeah! I like the poise you made when you gave thumbs up. 100 raspberries...congratulations and I bet your fingers were red too!
Awesome! Hazel, what is a maple sugar house? Sabra, what was in the garden? I'm betting both answers are yummy...
ReplyDeleteWow! What a magical day! I loved reading about the raspberries, sea glass and other fun things you experienced today. Hooray for Mickey Mouse pancakes too--yum! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I made blueberry-banana-pecan pancakes for your Uncle Peter on Saturday morning when he came to visit us in North Carolina. Seeing Micky Mouse pancakes made my mouth water. I bet you girls have an appetite after being in camp all day. Running around, swimming and all that good, fresh air can really make you hungry. Mmmmmm, raspberries. 100 raspberries? Really?!?
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the photo of Sam. He looks very nice. I can't wait to hear your top 3 things about camp when it's all over. Love, Nancy and Edward
